This policy explains how PlacedX Properties looks after the personal information of people who book and stay with us through placedxproperties.com. What we collect
- Your name, email address, phone number and billing address.
- Booking details: dates, number of guests, preferences you tell us about.
- Payment confirmation. Card details are handled by our payment provider and we do not see or store full card numbers.
- Identification details, where we ask for them for security or legal reasons.
- Messages you send us.
- Basic website data, such as device type and pages visited, through cookies and similar technology.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To take and manage your booking and provide your stay (contract).
- To take payment, keep accounting records and meet tax and legal duties (legal obligation).
- To keep the property and other guests safe, prevent fraud and handle disputes (legitimate interests).
- To improve our website and service (legitimate interests, or consent for non-essential cookies).
- To send you marketing emails, only if you have agreed (consent). You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who we share it with
We share information only where needed with: our booking and channel-management provider (Smoobu), our payment provider (Stripe), our email and website hosting providers, cleaners and maintenance contractors who need access details for the stay, our accountants and advisers, and public authorities where the law requires. We do not sell your information.
International transfers
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as approved contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep booking and payment records for 2 years after your stay for tax and accounting purposes. Other information, such as messages and marketing preferences, is kept for as long as needed for its purpose and then deleted.
Your rights
You have the right to access your information, correct it, ask us to erase it where the law allows, restrict or object to how we use it, move it to another provider, and withdraw consent. To use any of these rights, email placedxproperties@outlook.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk), though we would appreciate the chance to put it right first.
